Invites applications from people of the region for the post of Programme Associate

FST is a secular, not for profit, gender just, non political organisation conceived, led and managed by people from the region, to support forward looking initiatives in north east India. Located at Guwahati, Assam, FST supports creative approaches for solutions to critical issues of the region, along parallel tracks of grant making to organisations & individuals for working on thematic areas and building capacities and knowledge through training and networking.

FST is a young organisation and the Programme Associate will report to the Programme Manager, play a critical supporting role in a small team and is expected to:
• Assist in all programme related logistics including planning, implementation and monitoring
• Identification and dealing with potential partners
a. Assessing capacity of potential grantees/partners
b. Advocating a participatory approach in the projects
c. Monitoring and evaluation of the projects
d. Networking with partner organisations
• Administration and office management
• Document and disseminate information, project activities and processes.
a. Develop reporting systems, advertisements, publications, preparation of brochure, applications forms, and reporting formats.
b. Analyze reports/documents and give feedback to Program team for appropriate interventions.
c. Work closely with program team to document lessons learned and experiences in monitoring, highlighting issues of concern and good practices
d. Creating opportunities for sharing and wider dissemination of good practices.
• Organise and maintain a database of potential stakeholders in FST’s grant making, fund raising and training programmes;
• Assist the Programme team in communications and information exchange for
a. Media outreach and develop promotional materials
b. Maintain the website and arrange for and/or composing articles for newsletters
c. Prepare documents, reports, presentations reflecting work done, issues of concern.
• Assist in all Fundraising and Resource Mobilization programmes of the Foundation, including drafting proposals.
• Be flexible in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
The applicant should have:
• Postgraduate degree in social sciences or other related field from a recognised establishment and at least 3 years experience in similar field.
• Ability to work in a team, and cope in difficult and stressful situations
• Familiarity with development communication skills is a definite advantage
• Fluency in spoken and written English with specific experience in report writing.
• Proficiency with computers and skills in web designing and related areas.
• Knowledge of languages of the North Eastern states would be an advantage
