Location: Delhi - Head Office of Brooke India.

He/she will be required to travel to interior villages of operational areas in the district. In addition, he/she will be required to visit all operational areas of Partners of the Brooke in India or abroad and other various institutions, as per the organizational need.


The Brooke ( is one of the world’s leading equine welfare organization dedicated to achieving the welfare of working equines (horses, donkeys and mules) that suffer most in the world, and protecting the livelihoods of millions of poor people in developing countries who depend on these animals.
The Brooke India with its dedicated personnel has so far reached several areas of, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Purpose of Role: To collect latest information on various interesting incidents/situations/activities, and necessary data required for the day-to-day fundraising and communications activities from all operational areas. To prepare stories, case-studies in close co-ordination with Monitoring and Evaluation team and pro-actively share with the Fundraising and Communications unit at Brooke UK. Main purpose of this position is to provide all the necessary & required information in the most suitable form to the fundraising and communications teams in The Brooke UK and/or elsewhere and support/lead all fundraising and communications related request and visits.

Qualification & Experience :
• Masters in Mass Communication
• Diploma in Public Relations
• Minimum 3-4 years experience in media relations, public information, journalism or communication field and responding quickly to a multitude of tasks
• Excellent computer knowledge
Desirable Experience:
• Media relations (including liaison with international journalists based in India)
• Photography
• Filming
• Online media expertise
• Excellent writing, editing, interviewing and proofreading skills
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Core Duties
1. Overall:
• To identify and visit potential operational areas to probe and collect appropriate information needed for fundraising.
• Maintain excellent communication and build strong relationships with programme managers, Indian equine welfare counterparts and Brooke India partners in the field ensuring the preparation of regular, timely and accurate information flow; provide training
• To write stories and case studies about interesting and relevant incidents / activities / situations in a presentable form and share them with the UK fundraising and communications teams
• Taking photography and video footage and editing interesting incidents / activities to a high standard for publication within the media and in promotional materials
• To conduct training and orientation for the Programs staff on basics of documentation and case studies.
• Regular travel to all operational areas of The Brooke India. In addition, will be required to travel anywhere in India or abroad to gather information, handling research, carry out assessments, make presentations, etc.

2. Media Relations
• Issue media advisory and press releases to Indian media when appropriate and write articles for the Brooke India publications
• Interview Brooke representatives out in the field for the UK team to use to support story ideas and film footage
3. Administrative duties
• Maintain and update a list of relevant international journalists and media contacts and set up practical electronic communication links with the outside world
• Keep track of fundraising database relating to sponsorships etc
• Produce accurate, regular and timely operational reports according to specifications as required both within and outside the Brooke India Movement
• To assist the Chief Executive on day-to-day operational information needs.
• Managing the library with support from Executive Secretary.
