The Global Development Network (GDN) is looking for a Program Officer with strong interest in development issues at its New Delhi headquarters office to assist in the management of its 3ie Program (www.3ieimpact.org). The candidate should be a post graduate with at least five years of experience. Key skills to include: good organizational skills, effective time management; attention to detail; ability for multi-tasking.

TITLE PROGRAM OFFICER

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee management of grant applications to GDN’s 3ie Program, including workflow, correspondence with grantees and records maintenance.
• Write proposals and assist the 3ie Director and core program staff with fundraising.
• Assist in preparation of documents for donor reporting.
• Prepare technical reports on the status of the grant program.
• Coordinate with multiple constituencies: funding agencies, grantees, mentors, and consultants for specific assignments such as development research studies and trainings, project monitoring and evaluation etc.
• Provide content for website and promotional materials and participate in dissemination and outreach in conjunction with the Communications team.
• Assist in the development a strong resource pool of consultant for in house/outside need based assignments.
• Support other activities of GDN’s 3ie program as required, ranging from supporting conferences, Board meetings and fundraising activities.
SKILLS REQUIRED/
QUALIFICATION • MA Degree in social sciences (preferably in the top 10% of academic class).
• 5+ years of work experience in a similar profile.
• Skill in organizing, prioritizing, scheduling, planning and coordinating work; attention to detail.
• Skills in grant management, technical reporting, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; attention to details.
• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in carrying out advanced functions/applications of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to create and work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to exercise strategic thinking and decision-making skills; oversee the resolution of conflicting demands.
• Development, maintenance, and manipulation of databases and spreadsheets for project tracking and reporting.
• High degree of judgment and tact in handling the most sensitive, diverse and confidential material.
• Experience in fundraising and/or event management highly desirable.
Terms of Employment

The Global Development Network offers competitive remuneration based on qualifications and aptitude. This is a full time position with a two year renewable contract.
