REPORTS To Manager Children in Ministry _______________________________________________________________________


To provide technical support and coordination to Mainstream child Rights programming in all Projects of PMO Chennai and PMO Hyderabad effectively. To build effective collaborations, with Government Departments and INGOs, Civil Societies community based organizations besides seeking active involvement of children to raise their capacity in addressing the causes and effects that will ensure their well being and empowerment..


Strategic Support

 To coordinate systematically in implementing the child labour strategy as outlined in the framework of prevention, restoration and Advocacy objectives and carry out activities in close coordination with all stakeholders.

 To develop modules on Child Rights and systematically orient staff and CBOs in the ADP target areas of Chennai and Hyderabad PMOs.
 To explore appropriate linkages for youth and children for their overall development.
 To develop and disseminate position papers on child rights, Child labour, domestic children, labour laws, compulsory education and translate them in child friendly languages in all major languages.

 To ensure Staff involved with WV India are sensitised in addressing
the Child rights and related issues though producing news
letters/ periodical and journals. .

 To develop a strategic plan for Policy, and Research work on Child participation and development issues child focussed programming, children in crisis and child safe organization

Child Participation

 To assist in the development of interventions that seeks to promote child participation in World Vision Programmes through development forums, children clubs, and Child Protection committees and child parliaments.

 To assist in children (sponsorship and Non sponsorship) involvement and active participation in program planning, monitoring and evaluation process.

 To organize children get-togethers and cultural programs at regional levels.

Capacity Building
 Provide professional advice and support capacity building opportunities for ADPs in relation to child labour issues..
 To empower the leadership abilities of children and help them to be responsible citizens through child Parliaments and provide technical and logistic support for regional and national level gatherings,
 To create database on technical and vocational skills available in the country and disseminate the information to all projects.
 To establish placement centres resource linkages with corporates and industry for apprentice agreements and contracts for youth who are above 18 years.

Coordination, Networking
 To establish strategic alliances with like-minded NGOs, Bar council of India and coordinate regular rallies, campaigns addressing the non enforcement of child labour laws.
 Communicate on a regular basis with relevant stakeholders and networks.
 Gather relevant data related to Child labour in India and , assess the importance of the data and inform management, donors and Support Offices as appropriate and as required.
 To initiate ongoing research on best practices and approaches of other INGOs in the country and disseminate the information to all stakeholders

Project Supervision

 To develop and review project proposals to ensure quality that will appeal donors to support new proposals.
 To continuously seek for additional resources through government grants and other partners by writing new proposals.

 Prepare and submit timely monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports on all child Rights programs.

Knowledge and Skills Required.

Comprehensive understanding of Child labour programming and labour laws, UNCRC and working of ILO and State Governments.

Strong analytical ability to assess the situation, able to work with Project teams.

Experience on Research skills and documentation will be added advantage.

Experience in writing proposals.

At least 3 years experience in working in the similar context.

Post Graduate in Social Science preferred.
